About Christina

Christina Morris (she/her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Dr. Wendy Bates of DTA and Shannon Dusza, LPC-S. Christina has a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. She has experience working in university and outpatient private practice treating adults, couples, and groups.

Christina values a balanced approach in the counseling room. This means that you can expect her to show up as an authentic person while also utilizing evidence-based strategies like cognitive behavioral therapy and Gottman-informed approaches. Christina often incorporates science-based psychoeducation to help make sense of past experiences like trauma and to teach skills such as emotional regulation and behavioral changes.

Christina’s clinical interests largely center around body-related issues. Specifically, Christina specializes in treating strained relationships with food and exercise, obsessive thoughts about body image, and sexual dysfunction. Such sexual topics may include assertiveness, boundaries, shame, desire discrepancies in couples, and compulsivity. Christina also provides premarital counseling to couples of all gender + sexual identities, prompting discussions about relevant topics such as finances, parenting, in-law relationships, life goals, and intimacy. Additionally, as a classically trained musician, Christina is uniquely qualified to work with concerns surrounding careers and education in the performing arts.

In her off time, you can find Christina trying new recipes, giving her 1970s home a new personality, and hanging out with her rescue puppy, Teddy.

Christina is currently accepting new adult clients at the Dallas location. To schedule an in-person or virtual appointment with her, please email cmorris@dtacare.com.
